Do you want to be a YSA counsellor?

Because Counsellors are with the Youth more than any other FSY Leaders, they are vitally important at FSY.

We are looking for YSA who love the Youth and want to help the rising generation build their testimonies of Christ. You are the key to the success of FSY in ensuring that our Youth draw closer to Christ step by step throughout the week.

As set out in the planning guide for fsy program, the following criteria are desired for an fsy counsellor to meet:

1. Be at least 19 years of age by 15th January 2024 and spiritually mature.

2. Demonstrate a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through temple worthiness and church service.

3. Be fun, loving, enthusiastic about life,and slow to anger.

4. Teach and relate to the youth through the guidance of the Spirit.

5. Receive instructions and directions positively and cheerfully.

As a Counsellor you will be expected to be a good shepherd and to pray for the youth and interact with them as much as possible.

At FSY you will oversee a Counsellor Group of about 10-12 Youth participants along with another YSA of the same gender. You will stay with your assigned Counsellor Group for almost every activity at FSY.

You may be asked to accept an assignment as an Assistant Coordinator (AC). Assistant Coordinators work closely with the two FSY Coordinators and the Session Directing Couple with the planning, organizing and running of the activities, classes and events at FSY. Each Assistant Coordinator also supports and oversees the Counsellors in two or three Counsellor Companies.
